*Innovative partnership with Jackery provides essential power solutions for first responders and affected residents*
LOS ANGELES – As wildfires devastated communities across Los Angeles County, the Everything Lifesaving Foundation (EL) has mobilized its emergency response teams to provide critical support and resources to both first responders and affected residents. Working alongside partner non-profits and emergency management agencies, EL helped establish multiple relief centers throughout the affected areas, offering immediate assistance to those in need.
"When disasters strike, the first 72 hours are crucial for saving lives and protecting property. This situation was challenging because these fires continued non-stop so our focus was assisting front-line workers," said [Paul Herrera], Director of Everything Lifesaving Foundation. "Our teams were on the ball and planning a coordinated response within hours of the initial fire outbreak, working tirelessly to ensure that both first responders and displaced residents have access to the resources they need during this challenging time."
Supporting Those Who Serve
EL's specialized disaster response units had provided support to front-line personnel battling the wildfires across the region and high-risk individuals. These support efforts include:
- Working to coordinate donations of supplies and goods
- Setting up public charging stations with Jackery units in various locations.
- Providing high-risk individuals with Jackery Explorer 1500s to keep their Medical support devices running and means to keep medication refrigerated.
- Working with Jackery to stage equipment for first responders and mitigate future natural disasters.
"The dedication of these first responders and community non-profits is extraordinary, the world came together to provide assistance," observed Paul Herrera, EL's Director. "Many have been working never-ending shifts in extreme conditions, putting their lives on the line to protect our communities. Our role is to ensure they have everything they need to perform their jobs safely and effectively."
Community Relief Efforts
Beyond supporting first responders, EL is working to establish multiple areas to not only provide ongoing relief but to be ready for what comes next. We are collaborating with local agencies and nonprofits to continue our efforts and provide ongoing support.
“It's difficult for many in the world to imagine the situation at hand. Thousands who were forced to evacuate their homes with little or no warning," said Paul Herrera, Director at EL. "Many arrived at these centers with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. Our teams and others had been working around the clock to provide them with lifesaving power systems from Jackery, comfort, dignity, and practical assistance during this traumatic experience."
Powering the Response: Critical Partnership with Jackery
A key challenge in disaster response situations is maintaining reliable power sources for both emergency operations and affected residents. EL's partnership with portable power station manufacturer Jackery has proven invaluable in addressing this critical need.
"When our frail and aging power infrastructure fails during disasters, having alternative power solutions becomes essential," explained Paul Herrera, Operations Director at ELF. "Our partnership with Jackery has transformed our capacity to provide emergency power in crisis situations."
Through this collaboration, EL has deployed dozens of Jackery's portable power stations and solar generators throughout the affected areas, enabling:
- Continuous operation of essential medical devices for vulnerable residents
- Charging stations for communication devices at emergency shelters
- Power for critical equipment at first responder command posts
- Lighting for nighttime operations and temporary shelters
"We've seen firsthand how Jackery's portable power solutions have made a life-saving difference," added Paul Herrera. "In one instance, we were able to power a resident's nebulizer and refrigeration for 72 hours until utility services could be restored. Asthma difficulties are a daily burden for many people, and now you add wildfires and structure fires to the air. In another instance, their solar generators kept refrigerators and oxygen concentrators operational during the power loss, not just for food, but also to keep insulin refrigerated.
The partnership between EL and Jackery began immediately in January, when the organizations were in talks and recognized the growing need for resilient power solutions during emergencies. Since then, they have been collaborating to prepare for disaster response initiatives nationwide.
"Jackery has been an amazing partner, not just providing equipment but actively participating in our emergency preparedness training programs with us" said Paul Herrera. "When the LA fires broke out, they immediately sent units and technical support teams to bolster our response capabilities with no hesitation."
Looking Forward: Building Community Resilience and a Quicker Response
As fires ended, efforts continue, and the focus shifts to recovery, EL is already developing long-term support strategies for affected communities.
"The immediate emergency response is just the beginning," emphasized Paul Herrera. "We're committed to standing with these communities throughout the rebuilding process, which we know from experience can take months or even years."
EL is currently establishing a West Coast presence of resources that will provide ongoing assistance with:
- Temporary housing solutions
- Rebuilding and restoration guidance
- Community resilience planning
"These wildfires have caused unimaginable destruction, but we've also witnessed incredible strength and solidarity within these communities," noted Paul Herrera. "Our mission is to harness that spirit and provide the practical support needed to help residents rebuild their lives and create more resilient communities for the future."
